We CAN Grow!

Spread the word . . . .and GROW!

One of the simplest, most effective ways to build a club’s membership is by word of mouth.

Here’s why:

Enthusiasm. Personal conversations can be more passionate than fliers, brochures and e‐mails.

The full story. Face to face, you’re able to delve deeply into your favorite topic: your Kiwanis club.

Sincerity. When you’re chatting informally, there’s no need to oversell. Your passion for your club will help seal the deal.

Personal touch. When you take the time to talk to prospective members, they feel important, wanted.

So, encourage your fellow members to find opportunities to spread the word about your club and Kiwanis, whether they are at home, work or play. And tell them that Kiwanis International’s “Elevator Speech” can help them craft their very own Kiwanis story.

Kiwanis International “elevator speech”

This is an overview of the organization, its service and work. The name reflects the fact that someone can deliver an elevator speech in the time span of an elevator ride (for example, 30 seconds or 100‐150 words).

An example . . .

“Kiwanis International is an international organization of member‐volunteers who give more than 6 million hours and more than US$100 million each year to help change the world one child and one community at a time. Any community need can become a Kiwanis service project, especially if the need involves children, who should have the help and the right to lead healthy, successful lives. We believe that helping a child helps the world.”
